Cal Poly is committed to meeting the goals of the CSU Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI). Making university Web sites and Web-based applications and services accessible is one of three ATI priorities. For more information visit about the ATI Web site.
The ATI Web Accessibility First Year Project requires the campus to bring the top levels of a sample of its most important Web sites into compliance by May 15, 2007. This pilot effort will help identify the resources needed to bring the entire campus into compliance by 2012. By June 15, 2007, each campus must submit plans for achieving full compliance.
A Web site you may manage and/or own has been selected by the project team to participate in the pilot review process. This list represents a cross-section of critical administrative sites focusing mainly on information and services of interest to students.
Based on CSU policy, to be compliant, a Web page must meet the standards listed in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act
Kathy Kimball and Steve Rutland will be contacting the person in your area listed on the attached spreadsheet to discuss the review and remediation process in more detail. They should expect to spend 2-3 hours working with Steve or Kathy on the initial review and then whatever time is required for them to either remediate the site or to document when and how it will be brought into compliance.
If the contact person for a site has changed, please reply to this message with the name of the person we should be contacting instead.
