A. The alt-text should match exactly to the text contained in the image. For example, the alt-text for the Cal Poly logo should be alt="Cal Poly". You should also include the title attribute on the image. If the image is a link then the title attribute should contain the function of the linked image. For example. the title attribute for the Cal Poly logo should be title="Go to the Cal Poly Home Page".

Q. What is the definition of an administrative web site for purposes of ATI?

A. Refer to the ATI Definition of Administrative Web Sites for determining whether or not a web site is administrative and how these sites are prioritized for ATI accessibility reviews.

Q. Am I responsible for the accessibility of materials I link to that are not part of my web site?

A. It depends. If you are linking to materials that you put up or your department contracted to have put up and it represents Cal Poly, then you must point to accessible materials. Examples: Your U-Tube site, a contracted registration system, a subscription service for users to sign up for your newsletter, social networking sites such as Facebook, blogs, etc. If it is within the Cal Poly domain (calpoly.edu), no. The owner of the Cal Poly site is responsible for accessibility of their materials.
